Leo Tyson
Leo primarily works with the beginner programme, and develops all the Unit-27 Academy programming.
Leo has been working in the fitness industry since 2013 in which time he has coached thousands of hours worth of sessions and helped numerous clients make impressive physique transformations. He’s worked with a range of clients with goals ranging from sports specific, improvement of health markers to fat loss and overall body transformations.
Leo’s passion has always been to offer more than just personal training sessions where his clients get a tough workout, go home and repeat a few days later. This is why Leo is proud to refer to himself as a Coach and not just a personal trainer because he offers all his clients an individualized plan and ongoing support and accountability in every aspect of their lives’ therefore ensuring they have all the tools needed to achieve whatever goals we set.
His coaching style revolves around educating, teaching and mentoring as he always wants his clients to understand why and what they are doing so they can ultimately continue to progress long after we stop working together.
When discovering kickboxing at a time where he was a very un-athletic teenager and he developed and grew an endearing passion for the sport however really struggled to keep up in all areas of the training. He was uncoordinated, weak and slow which caused him to realize he would really need to put in the serious dedication which many years later has crossed over into the same dedication he has for his clients.
Leo then went on to learn about everything he could; how to train and eat for performance to make up for the athletic shortcomings he had at the time. After 2 years of training and fighting at an amateur level Leo went to Thailand to train for 6 weeks where he won his first professional Muay Thai fight. Following that he then went on to compete 4 further times at that level on another trip to Thailand and back in the United Kingdom. In recent years his training focus has switched to lifting for aesthetics and has have competed in Junior Men’s Physique and junior fitness modeling competitions. He is now focused on helping others on their journey to optimal health and happiness through online education/ coaching and in person coaching here at Unit-27.
